چکیده

This chapter examines the multidimensional representation of specialized concepts and concept systems within the context of new theories of simulated cognition and culture-bound terminology. According to the premises of Framebased Terminology (Faber et al. 2005; Faber et al. 2006; Faber et al. 2007), conceptualization is regarded as a dynamic process that is modulated by human perception. In addition, conceptual categories previously thought to be universal (e.g. natural geographic entities), are also shown to be constrained by cultural perceptions. Contextual information related to situational simulation and culture is thus used to configure specialized domains on the basis of definitional templates and situated representations for specialized knowledge concepts.
